1. Everything here is public
Posts, display names, roles, locations and links are published immediately for anyone to read, search, screenshot and share — and we may reproduce them in ILLSET marketing. Do not post anything you would not put on a poster: no home addresses, phone numbers, ticketing credentials, contracts, guarantees or private messages, and never other people's personal details.
2. What belongs here
- Introductions: who you are, where you're based, what you do, your links.
- Questions about ILLSET, booking, promotion and running live music.
- Answers and support for other people in the industry.
- Constructive feedback on the product and the launch.
3. What gets removed
- Spam and self-promo abuse — repeated posts, unrelated promotion, link farming, affiliate or crypto schemes, ticket resale.
- Scams and deception — phishing links, fake booking or payment offers, impersonating an artist, venue, promoter or ILLSET staff.
- Abuse and harassment — threats, targeted pile-ons, doxxing, sexual harassment, or content that breaches the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.
- Hate speech — attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Illegal content — drug sales, weapons, child sexual abuse material (reported to authorities immediately), or anything else unlawful.
- Defamation and false claims — unproven allegations about named people or venues, or misleading claims about ILLSET.
- Explicit or graphic content — this is a professional industry space.
- Someone else's content posted without the right to post it.
4. Disputes between users
Payment, booking or contract disputes between artists, venues and promoters are not resolved here. Do not use the board to name and shame — take it up directly, or through the appropriate authority. Posts of that kind will be removed.
5. How moderation works
- Automated filters block obvious spam and scam patterns at the point of posting, and rate limits cap how often one browser can post.
- Community reporting — anyone can report a post and choose a reason. A post that reaches three independent reports is hidden automatically pending review.
- Human review — our team reviews reported and hidden posts and can restore, keep hidden, or permanently delete them. We aim to review reports within two business days.
- Repeat breaches — we may block access to the board.
We are not obliged to monitor every post and we do not endorse user content. We act on posts we become aware of, and we may remove content at our discretion under our Terms of Use.
6. Reporting
Use the report control on any post. For urgent or serious matters — threats, illegal content, impersonation of ILLSET, or a copyright complaint — email hello@illset.com with a link to the post and a short description. Copyright complaints should identify the work, your rights in it, the infringing post, your contact details, and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith and is accurate.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In New Zealand, harmful online content can also be reported to Netsafe.
7. Appeals
If your post was removed and you think that was a mistake, email hello@illset.com with the post text and roughly when you posted it. We will review the decision and reply. Deliberately abusing reporting to silence other users is itself a breach of these guidelines.
8. Use in marketing
By posting you allow ILLSET to reproduce your post — including your display name, role and location — in ILLSET marketing and on social media, as set out in clause 5.2 of our Terms of Use. If you would rather a specific post was not used that way, email us and we will honour that.
9. Changes
We will update these guidelines as the community grows. The last-updated date is at the top of this page.
